“If there’s a book you want to read

but it hasn’t been written yet,

then you must write it.”

~ Toni Morrison

In 2012, I couldn’t have been more shocked and delighted when the Kickstarter project “Recognize Me: Centering L.G.B.T.Q.I.A Youth in Fiction” went live and dramatically surpassed its fundraising goal–thanks to the immense generosity of strangers, family, and friends like you!

This website is an outgrowth of your support, shaping two online portals into my writer’s world. The first is “Scraps of Poetry & Madness“–a smorgasbord of writerly reflections, essays, literature reviews, profiles of badass authors & characters that inspire me, LGBTQIA literary cultural content/commentary, and a weekly “Life Sentence” (one sentence that takes my reader’s breath away & gives me new life).

The second portal is the “Mystery Quilt“–a private content section where you may “unlock” a behind-the-scenes view of my Kickstarter-funded novel–including reflections on the writing process, character sketches, excised passages, excerpts of character journals/e-mails/text convos (that won’t be included in the final work), untamed free writes, and more.

Your generosity has invited the muses to speak as strong as ever, in a time when our youth must scream their strengths in a global culture (still) hell-bent on silence and erasure. Thank you for your support!
